Introducing NursesNetwork.com!

By Trisha Coady | February 22nd, 2010

We’re incredibly excited to be launching – on May 12th – NursesNetwork.com, the first and only Professional Learning Network built by and for nurses.

NursesNetwork.com will integrate four key features to deliver the world’s most comprehensive continuing education solution for nurses.

This platform will provide convenient and affordable learning to enable you to meet your ongoing CE requirements online. By joining NursesNetwork.com you will have access to CE courses that are internationally recognized and fully accredited, an advanced interactive patient simulator, and a nurses-only, peer-to-peer social network. NursesNetwork.com will also offer a wealth of reference information at your fingertips with an expansive professional resource library.

On this blog we will chronicle our journey from today until the May 12th launch and beyond, detailing new features and exploring in more detail the various aspects of the platform.

We are truly proud that NursesNetwork.com was created for nurses by nurses. The nurses that you’ll see here most often will be me and Katie Morales. We hope that you will subscribe and be a part of this unique opportunity to mentor, and be mentored by, your peers. This will allow us as nurses to not only learn online but from each other as well!

  1. Hi Katie and Trisha. Just wanted to congratulate you on a very professional website and innovative concept. I look forward to hearing more from you two.

    Katie and Trisha:
I would definitely add the Institute for Safe Medication Practice (www.ismp.org) to your reference list. They are a nonprofit solely created to provide accurate and safe medication information for nurses and other health care providers. You can sign up for a weekly free online newsletter, attend continuing education events, and download articles and reference tools for clinical practice at the site. I use it all the time with our ADN students. Here is an excerpt from their homepage:

“The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), based in suburban Philadelphia, is the nation’s only 501c (3) nonprofit organization devoted entirely to medication error prevention and safe medication use. ISMP represents over 30 years of experience in helping healthcare practitioners keep patients safe, and continues to lead efforts to improve the medication use process. The organization is known and respected worldwide as the premier resource for impartial, timely, and accurate medication safety information.”

Good luck on your opening May 12th!

Thanks, for mentioning the ISMP Barbara. I subscribe to the ISMP letter and often “Tweet” their information. It is a great free resource for nurses.
